8 WEEK POTTERY COURSE AT CLAUDE LEHMAN POTTERY

These classes offer a fun and rewarding experience learning how to make useful and beautiful things. Leave the world behind for a few hours and immerse your hands in clay.

These small classes are suitable for all levels and are intended to be both enjoyable and productive.

With my new gas fired kiln, you will be able to create pottery using classic stoneware clays and glazes. My pottery is strongly influenced by the pottery traditions of China, Japan, and Korea. You will be able to decorate your pots with iconic glazes such as celadon, chun blue, tenmoku, oribe and shino.

The classes will be held on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 6:30 in my studio at 4 Howard St in Burlington. Additional hours will be available for practice outside of class time. (Thursday 5-9, Saturday 10-2 and Sunday 12-4)

The fee is $425 and includes all glazes and firings and 25 lbs of clay. This fee must be paid in advance to secure your spot and is not refundable.

If you're interested or want more information give me a call or text at 802-399-5181 or email claudethepotter@gmail.com.

Also spread the word if you have friends that you think would enjoy the classes.

All classes are taught in a small group environment which allows for a high degree of personal instruction. Classes are open to all skill levels: from beginner to advanced.

Although most students choose to focus on the potters wheel, hand-building techniques are also offered. Students will learn how to use a variety of tools to add details of form, texture and design to their clay creations. Additionally, students will learn how to apply glaze and other surface decorations.

While beginners will focus on learning the basic skills of centering, pulling, shaping and trimming, intermediate and advanced students will be challenged to explore more nuanced details of pottery making that add more refinement to their finished pieces.
